San Antonio takes over Austin with first official SXSW showcase

SAN ANTONIO – The buzz ahead of Austin based mega festival South by Southwest is starting to pick up and this year San Antonio will make its mark with its own official showcase.

SXSW is comprised of Music, Film, and Interactive and is 10 days of panels, musical performances, film premieres, secret parties, and tons of food.

San Antonio will have its first ever official SXSW showcase with “Casa San Antonio,” hosted by new non-profit organization, Choose San Antonio.

Choose SA focuses on promoting San Antonio globally using modern marketing initiatives to showcase life in SA to non-residents and prospective residents alike.

Casa San Antonio features programs, panels, parties, and more during SXSW Interactive and will serve as the San Antonio Cultural embassy. The official showcase kicks off with SA District 1 Councilman Diego Bernal speaking on a panel to discuss new voter technology.

Guests can hang out at Casa San Antonio inside The Old School Bar on the corner of Trinity and 6th Street, March 11-16. To find the complete schedule of panels and events at Casa San Antonio, click here.

The festival is nine days away and we will be showcasing the sights and sounds of SXSW 2016 throughout the duration of the festival.
